Evaluating parametric uncertainty using non-linear regression in fringe projection

Optical coordinate measurement systems, such as fringe projection offer fast, high-density measurements of arbitrary surface topographies. The versatility, speed and information density make them attractive in-situ devices autonomous inspection systems. However, the complex nature process makes evaluating uncertainty from a – even in hypothetical simple case where accuracy is limited only by quantities that define an indication; named system parameters here. In this paper, validating series assumptions, method to explore given. results investigation imply common distortion model (the Brown-Conrady model) not specific enough camera or projector evaluate its uncertainty.
